PSPJ PHOTO OUTING: Putrajaya International Dragon Boat Race.
The plan today was to shoot the 1st. Putrajaya Intl. Dragon Boat Race. Due to the cloudy weather and the high contrast, it was not possible for me to shoot the dragon boats in all their glory racing in the lake. There was not even one shot of the boats that I could be proud of. So the next best thing was to concentrate on shooting other landscape shots around the vicinity of the Putrajaya Watersports Complex. On another day, my camera would not even have come out of the bag . . .

SLOW SYNC FLASH + MOTION BLUR TECHNIQUE.
Besides shooting the Water 2009 Exhibition in PWTC on Tuesday, I did not have any photo outing this week. I decided to search my old files and upload a few photos which coincides with the above theme.
A lot of my friends and especially my family members have been asking me why do i consistently blur shots like these. Some have even suggested that I had used the wrong camera settings or that something was wrong with my camera during that time. A few even asked me if I am capable of taking a sharply focused shot without using the tripod.
While I might be able to capture a properly focused and sharp image if i tried real hard, I feel that these "static" shots do not really suit my style. I will always try to convey some sort of "movement" or "motion" in most of my images. This is normally done by using a combination of shutter speed, aperture openings and ISO values to achieve the "correct" amount of blur in the shots. As you can see from my images of waterfalls and images with moving elements in them, all will be rendered as motion blurs. That is why I know that I will not make it as a wedding photographer. The technique that I use is not meant to produce images of good photography . . . but I feel that they will produce images that will clearly reflect my own individual style.
"IF IT MOVES, IT BLURS . . ."
